Pelicans Officially Shut Down Anthony Davis For Remaining Four Games

After dealing with back spams recently, the New Orleans Pelicans announced Thursday that forward/center Anthony Davis will not play in the remaining four games this season.

Davis was examined by team physicians who determined that his injury will require 1-2 weeks of rest and rehabilitation.

Davis did not play Wednesday night in the loss against Phoenix.

Guard Eric Gordon will also sit out the remainder of the season due to a knee injury.

Gordon will undergo arthroscopic surgery on his left knee next week and is expected to make a full recovery.

In 67 games and 66 starts this season, Davis has averaged 21 points, 10 rebounds, and 3 blocks in 35 minutes per game.

Gordon started all 64 games he appeared in this season and averaged 15 points, 3 assists and one steals in 32 minutes per game.

The Pelicans face the Thunder and the Rockets twice to finish the season.  The first two games are on the road, the final two in the Smoothie King Center.
